We make our flashlights for a wide variety of applications, but understand that not everyone wants the same lighting options. This is why we developed our TEN-TAP® Programmable Switch. If you like most of the features of a flashlight, but not the pre-set programs, our TEN-TAP programing allows you to reprogram the light from the standard default option.
Basically, the TEN-TAP programmable switch provides you with custom options, allowing you to select one of three different programs. We have incorporated this switch into most of our ProTac® Series, including the ProTac® HL-5X and the ProTac® 1L-1AA. We have also started introducing it into our rechargeable flashlights, such as the Strion® DS HL. The programming options are different depending on the flashlight model though, so you should always refer to the product information and instructions. A ProTac® HL for example, though, has the choice of the following 3 modes: High/Strobe/Low (factory default); High only; and Low/High.
Reprogramming is easy and can be done from anywhere – with just a few quick taps of the switch you can change the lighting to fit your needs and how you’ll be using it. Lights are shipped from the factory in the default program. To change to the next program, starting from the off position, tap the switch rapidly nine times. On the 10th time, hold it down, and continue holding the switch down until the light turns off and then release. You’re now in the next program. Repeat this pattern to change to the next program, and then again to return to the factory default.
