I Opened the Washer Door, There Was This Light Shining at Me From Inside. It Was the ProTac®!
I have been a deputy sheriff since 1991 and currently serve as my department's full-time firearms instructor. About five years ago while still working uniformed patrol, I bought a ProTac® 2AAA, to carry in my shirt pocket as a supplement to my belt carry light (from another company) as well as my full size, SL-20L® LED. For the past three years, I've carried the ProTac® in my daily duties as the Principal Firearms Instructor. The light is used for my personal needs as well as for low-light training demonstrations.
This past Sunday afternoon, I was doing some laundry in prep for the week and threw in a couple of pairs of pants. Just after starting the machine, we hear ta-tink, thunk, thunk, etc. My wife asks what I have in there and I tell her just some pants, thinking it's the zipper or buckle. Forty minutes later the chime dings and I go to move the load to the dryer. When I open the door, there's this light shining at me from inside and I know our washer does not have an inside light. It was the ProTac, which had been clipped to one of the pants pockets. I took it out, gave it a once over and everything worked just fine. I ended up taking the batteries out and leaving it open overnight just in case. Put some new batteries in Monday morning and it's no worse for wear. I had thought about putting it through the dryer as well, but my wife said that would not be a good idea. Thanks for making a great and very useful light!
