Quality Control Inspector (2nd Shift)

The essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assist with troubleshooting product and process issues in manufacturing cells.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing efforts in all areas.
  • Inspect the quality of assembled parts and assemblies produced in the manufacturing cells.
  • Read and follow written Red book instructions and related Quality documentation.
  • Receive and monitor the quality of incoming parts and assemblies from suppliers.
  • Utilize basic measuring instruments including optical comparators, micrometers, calipers, pin gages, height gages, bore gages, electrical test equipment and other standardized gages to inspect incoming parts and assemblies.
  • Read and follow written instructions, engineering drawings, schematics and related documentation and work independently.
  • Maintain detailed inspection records.
  • Regularly required to move about the facility.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Education requirements:

  • 3 years of experience and/or training in quality control inspection or similar related responsibilities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Certifications in Quality Inspection, relevant ASQ areas or technical degree a plus.
  • Understand and use basic GD&T concepts such as flatness, perpendicularity, and parallelism. CMM experience a plus.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficient with MS Office and job specific software.
  • Ability to maintain a positive, constructive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills as well as interpersonal aptitude needed.
  • High degree of reliability, accuracy and integrity.
