Happy 46 Years

This past Saturday, March 23, marked 46 years since Streamlight came into being as a company. We have come a long way as a company since that first flashlight we developed – a handheld unit that produced one million candlepower and that was sold to the military and law enforcement market sectors. Take a look at this document from back in the day promoting the Stream Lite – 1 Million. A bit different from what you’re used to now, isn’t it?

Today, we’re an ISO 9001:2015 certified company, designing, manufacturing and marketing high-performance lighting, weapon light/laser sighting devices and scene lighting solutions for professional law enforcement, military, firefighting, industrial, automotive and outdoor applications. With over 150 U.S. patents, and over 100 U.S. and Foreign Trademarks, we are a pioneer in the development of rechargeable lights and we helped to revolutionize LED lighting.

Every year, we keep growing and expanding our product lines, with product announcements and upgrades happening throughout the year. We’ve grown from the initial 6 employees we started with back in 1973, to more than 300 now. Last year we even added on to our headquarters, adding 75,000 square feet to our warehouse operations.

We have been committed to providing quality products for 46 years, and we don’t see that changing any time soon. So happy birthday to us!
