The work to prevent, improve treatment and ultimately find a cure for both breast cancer and diabetes goes on every day. We’re proud to play a part in the fight against these diseases that affect so many Americans.

With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month and November designated American Diabetes Month® , this is a good time to remind you that Streamlight has special products that generate donations to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF) and the American Diabetes Association® Research Foundation.

Pink Lights Supports Breast Cancer Research
It’s estimated that more than 220,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer each year; and 40,000 will die. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women. (Men are subject to breast cancer as well, with an estimated 2,150 diagnosed each year; and 410 dying.) With these numbers, chances are good that you know someone who has been affected by breast cancer.

BCRF works to achieve prevention and a cure by providing funding for innovative clinical and genetic research. This research is critical; and its continuation depends upon funding. Every dollar counts.

Streamlight has donated $583,000 to date to the not-for-profit organization from the sales proceeds of our existing pink flashlights: the Nano Light® key chain light, and the ProTac HL® and Strion® LED tactical lights. We make a donation ranging from $1 to $5 to BCRF, for each of these lights imprinted with the BCRF logo.

New Pink Siege® AA Lantern To Aid Breast Cancer Research
New this year in time to commemorate October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re introducing a pink version of the Siege® AA ultra-compact lantern. It’s a rugged lantern that doesn’t take up a lot of space and uses affordable, easy-to-find AA alkaline batteries to provide 360° of soft, even light that illuminates a large area. Streamlight donates $2 to BCRF for each pink Siege AA sold.

Nearly 30 million children and adults in the United States have diabetes, one of the top 10 causes of death in the United States. Another 86 million Americans have prediabetes and are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes.

The American Diabetes Association Research Foundation is working diligently to make diabetes a disease of the past. With the Red Nano Light, Streamlight is aiding in the fight. For every red American Diabetes Association® Research Foundation Nano Light® sold, Streamlight donates $1 to the American Diabetes Association Research Foundation.
