STREAMLIGHT PROTECTS ITS PRODUCTS WITH TRADEMARKS
AND PATENTS YOU MAY NEVER EXPECT
It's critical for a company like ours to diligently protect our products from being copied. We're known for innovations; and with innovations comes the risk of being copied. That's why Streamlight holds over 130 US and foreign patents; and more than 105 US and foreign trademarks. But we don't just patent our unique technologies. Since competitors often try to make products that look like ours, we also trademark anything that gives a Streamlight product a unique look, shape or appearance. The triangle on the back of the head of the Stinger® and the distinctive ring on our TLR® heads are good examples of some of the distinct features that we protect.
Consumers recognize these features; and upon seeing them on a flashlight, many people would assume that light is their trusted Stinger or TLR. Competing flashlight manufacturers don't include these looks by accident; they do so to make their lights look like a Streamlight and thereby confuse or mislead consumers as to the source of the lights. We fight hard to prevent consumer confusion from happening.
