The Low Light Shooting Instructor Training Program
(LLSITP) is a 3 day (24 hour) train-the-trainer designed to prepare and certify firearms instructors to deliver a Low Light Shooting course to their agency.

Whether you are instructing rookies or veteran officers, if involved in a shots fired incident, it will most likely be in low light conditions.  Between 1983 and 1992, 72% of all assaults and 62% of officers killed nationwide were between 6:00 pm and 6:00 am.  The most dangerous time was between 8:00 pm and 4:00 am.

The purpose of the Low Light Shooting Instructor Training Program is two fold; first, to help firearms instructors develop shooting techniques necessary to become proficient during low light shooting exercises and second, to be able to teach those techniques to your fellow officers in a safe and practical manner.

NOTE: This is not a course for learning how to be a firearms instructor.  It is intended for those who have already completed a Firearms Instructor Course, Methods of Instruction Course, or Use of Force Instructors Course.

Course content includes:

· Low light and its effect on eyesight
· Use of flashlights and weapon mounted lights
· Choosing the best equipment for your needs
· Tactical use of light
· Use of back lighting
· Use of firearm night sights
· Analysis of most common flashlight assisted shooting techniques
· Instructor development
· Training safety
· Use of Low Light Simulator Goggles during training

In order to be certified, the participant must pass a comprehensive written examination, several live fire courses of fire, and demonstrate their ability to run a safe range in low light conditions. The training program consists of classroom and range instruction.

Ammunition required:  400 rounds handgun, 100 rounds shotgun

Equipment required: Eye protection, ear protection, vest, duty weapon with 3 magazines, shotgun, duty belt with holster and magazine pouch, and suitable range attire. No flashlight is necessary, there will be products on-site for use.

This training program exclusively uses products by Streamlight.  Several products will be on-site and available for use and testing by participants. Students will receive a Streamlight Tactical Mounted Light or Handheld Light as part of the course.

No more than 26 students are permitted.  Agencies interested in hosting the program should contact our office regarding specific range requirements.

The Counterfeit Identification Training Program
(CITP) is a 1 day (8-hour) training program designed to train law enforcement officers to detect and investigate fraudulent and counterfeit identification documents.

The training program examines various types of counterfeit and fraudulent identification used by illegal aliens from Mexico and other Latin American countries and how the use of these relates to terrorism and other homeland security issues.

Participants get hands on experience through the examination of actual counterfeit documents that were seized during investigations.  You will get a look from “inside the eyes of a counterfeiter” as the instructor makes fake ids for the class and provides them with high quality birth certificates, with a street value of $2000 for examination.

Other topics include common document security features, immigration case law, investigation strategies, imposter detection techniques, consular notification requirements and internet resources for investigations.

Some of the documents examined include: Resident Alien and Permanent Resident cards; Employment Authorization cards; Social Security cards; United States Passports and Travel Visas; Mexican Passports; Mexican Driver Licenses; Mexican Voter Registration Card; Mexican Matricula Consular cards; International Driver Licenses and Permits; Several States driver licenses and id cards; Birth Certificates; and identification documents from several other Latin American countries.

Participants receive a Student Manual, CD containing resource materials, Certificate of Training and exclusive discounts on Products by Streamlight.
